JACKSONVILLE, FL (June 17, 2005) - Sea Star Line, LLC has donated $5,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico—and in doing so, has become a Platinum Sponsor. The funds will be used to finance an array of programs geared to the healthy development of Puerto Rico's youth.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico operates five club houses—located in Las Margaritas, Ramos Antonini, Mayaguez, San Lorenzo, and [newly opened] Sport City Roberto Clemente. In addition to the variety of programs that emphasize sports, crafts, and academic reinforcement, the organization has developed programs targeted to the prevention of teen related problems. Throughout the years, these programs have been instrumental in addressing issues such as the abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs, as well as early pregnancy.

In addition to its base of customers and employees, Sea Star Line is the only major carrier that has substantial Puerto Rico based ownership. "We are an integral part of this community," said Frank Peake, president of Sea Star Line, "and we have a vested interest in seeing that Puerto Rico's children—and future leaders—are able to develop in a healthy and productive environment. The work being done by the Boys and Girls Club is essential in that development."
