Marine Operations Analyst
Sea Star Line, LLC is a privately held company providing integrated transportation services between the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Sea Star is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, with offices in San Juan, Puerto Rico; Port Elizabeth, New Jersey; Port Everglades, Florida; and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
We are currently looking for a Marine Operations Analyst to support the Marine Department's goals and objectives through coordination of vessel operations including: vessel and cargo operations; vessel schedule; crew/vessel and terminal communications and vessel regulatory interface.
Salary Median start in $45K/year, plus benefits and potential performance bonus.
Successful candidate will need to satisfy the following requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Transportation/Logistics or related field and/or five years work experience in the vessel operations environment with leadership/supervisory responsibility.

Computer kills such as, but not limited to: Microsoft Words, Excel (basic formulas), Power Point, and Lotus Notes.

Availability and permission required to travel internationally as required (25%).

Valid driver's license required. Must be able to pass local state and federal security requirements for entry to ports and vessels.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct and monitor the cargo loading and discharge of the vessel.

Organize and analyze information from SSL departments (Traffic/cargo bookings, vessel, terminal, engineering, equipment, and stevedore).

Review and/or formulate prestow loading plans in preparation for final stowage of vessel.

Ensure the Captain and Chief Mate have up-to-date and correct cargo information throughout the port call and the ship's final marine operation documents are correct.

Monitor vessel movements and advise SSL departments of changes of ETA's, changes of schedules, and vessel requirements.

Execute department reporting and record-keeping processes.

Analyze Marine Operations processes to improve efficiencies.
