  • Sea Star Line celebrates 10 years of service.

2007

  • Sea Star Line launches its new Eastern Caribbean Service to the islands of Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, and Tortola.
  • The San Juan terminal renovation project is completed, making Puerto Nuevo the finest terminal facility in Puerto Rico.
  • Sea Star Line invests $15.8 million to further improve its vessels, facilities, equipment fleet, and technology.

2006

  • Sea Star Line introduces its third high speed roll-on/container vessel, El Faro.
  • Sea Star Line continues to plan for the future and reinvests an additional 24.9 million in its vessels, facilities and equipment fleet.

2005

  • Sea Star reinvests $19.8 million to improve its vessels, facilities and equipment fleet. $5.0 million is committed to improve technologies and provide state-of-the-art e-commerce capabilities to our business partners.

2004

  • Sea Star commits an additional $21 million for vessel, terminal, equipment and information technology improvements, further positioning itself as an industry leader.

2003

  • With the Navieras asset acquisition completely and fully integrated, Sea Star continues to refine its processes and services.
  • Sea Star invests $1.8 million in terminal and vessel improvements.

  • Sea Star Line acquires Navieras assets.
  • Sailings increase from three to five per week.
  • An in-house trucking resource in Jacksonville provides 43 dedicated tractors.

2001

  • The company purchases two high speed ro/con vessels from Matson Navigation.

1998

  • Sea-Barge recapitalizes to become Sea Star Line, LLC.
  • Backed by major U.S. and Puerto Rican investors, Sea Star launches a high-speed liner service between the United States and Puerto Rico.

1990

  • Two tug-and-barge sets are added to serve a Jacksonville/San Juan route.
  • Florida sailings to San Juan increase to twice a week.

  • Equipped with two tug-and-barge sets, Sea-Barge begins serving the South Florida/Puerto Rico market.
